Jennifer Wenning, MSN, FNP-BC
Family Nurse Practitioner
Jennifer Wenning, MSN, FNP-BC grew up in the outskirts of Aurora, Colorado and graduated from Eaglecrest High School. She was fortunate enough to receive a full-ride volleyball scholarship to Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY) and graduated with honors in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She moved to the Southeast U.S. to "thaw out" for 5 years and worked in the pediatric and cardiac intensive care units at Duke University (Durham, NC), Fairfax Hospital (VA), Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (Atlanta, GA), and Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, SC). An opportunity opened up at Children's Hospital Colorado and she seized it to move back home. She worked in the pediatric cardiac catheterization laboratory for 8 years and after a few medical mission trips with Project C.U.R.E. to Nicaragua and Ghana, she realized that she wanted to do more with her career.
She graduated in 2017 from the University of Northern Colorado with a Master of Science in Nursing focusing on family medicine. She worked as a family nurse practitioner for 4 years at UCHealth and realized that her passion fell in preventative practices through nutrition, exercise, sleep, gut health, and mental health. She believes that there is no one way to treat a person-everyone is unique and has their own story-so a traditional Western medicine approach or an alternative approach may not fit everyone. Health should be defined by the individual and she is ready to partner with her patients to find the best path forward to help them attain their goals. She is excited to have the ability to spend the necessary time with patients and not be subject to the time pressures from modern medical systems. She's not sure who said it originally, but she likes to think that this quote is perfect for how she wants to treat health, "Things of quality have no fear of time." She cannot wait to exercise alongside her patients and mutually inspire one another to live a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Jennifer is married to Kevin, and they have two children, Ellis and Iva. She enjoys cooking, reading, learning (her husband says she would be in school for a new degree every few years if she had the time), experimenting with essential oils (she is a certified AromaTouch therapist and doTERRA Essential Oils Specialist), road cycling, hiking, yoga, weightlifting, traveling, and playing with her kids.
Lindsey Hill, MSN, FNP-BC
Family Nurse Practitioner
Lindsey grew up in a small town in South Mississippi. He began his medical career as a paramedic, a role he held for 10 years while completing his associate's degree in nursing. After earning his nursing degree, he worked in the Emergency Department and ICU for many years before transitioning to the air medical services, where he worked as a flight nurse/paramedic for over 14 years.
During his time as a flight nurse, Lindsey pursued further education, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He then completed a Master's degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner/Adult Gerontological Acute Care at the University of South Alabama. Following this, he joined the medical staff at SCRMC in the Gastrointestinal Clinic, where he treated conditions related to the liver, stomach, intestines, colon, and other organs. His passion lies in preventative practices, focusing on nutrition, exercise, gastrointestinal health, and mental health, all of which play a significant role in overall health.
After visiting Colorado multiple times, Lindsey and his wife, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, decided to make Colorado their new home and bring their extensive experience to the people of Northern Colorado. In his spare time, he enjoys aviation, fishing, hiking, and outdoor activities. Being from the South, he is also a huge college football fan.
Jessica Travis, M.S.N
Clinic Educator
Clinic Educator, Jessica, has long had a passion for health-related education. She enjoys relating complex concepts in an easy to digest format. She believes that when a person is able to understand the root cause of a particular issue or problem, they are much more likely to be motivated to make the necessary changes for real transformation.
Jessica learned about the need for addressing the root cause of illness by seeing things from the extreme opposite end of the spectrum. She graduated from the University of Nevada @ Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. During her time at UNLV, she was one of 2 students selected for a 2-year traineeship at the North Las Vegas Veterans Affairs Medical Center (called VALOR traineeship) which essentially served as 2 years' experience as a nurse before receiving the actual title. She then worked at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada's first and only Level 1 Trauma Center. Thanks to her experience as a VALOR recipient, she was able to move directly into the Trauma Intensive Care Unit and the Neurology Intensive Care Unit(s) of the facility.
After only 2 years in this capacity, Jessica felt a desire for more autonomy in her role as a health care provider. She enrolled in UNLV's Master's Degree program, which she completed in 2005, becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Jessica practiced for over a decade in Family Medicine, Pain Management, and Neurology before transitioning from a clinical role to one as a full-time educator. Since then, she has helped hundreds of people achieve goals in emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing through individual and group coaching as well as public education.
Jessica is married to Glenn and mother to their daughter Wesley. She enjoys spending time with her family and cooking healthy meals for them. During her free time, she can be found enjoying a book or stargazing in the beautiful Colorado skyscapes.
